Looks like the ISP at work has been having problems with their DNS servers getting hammered.  They routed us to a new DNS server and our connection problems appear to be fixed.

I can browse the intarweb once more!

I think the worms are starting to have their effect on the network.  The number of hosts unreachable seems to be growing.  Wincustomize.com notes that traffic has been dropping all week as packet loss, and response times are rising.  InternetTrafficReports' 7-Day Report seems to confirm this, though recent data seems to be leveling off some.
