Sciatica waxes poetic on gaming systems. I find myself in the same position as him, which is I like games, but don't have the fanaticism requisite for being hard-core. Also, because of the rampant rise in the costs of gaming systems, and titles, as well as the decline in simplicity, I've found myself getting into MAME more and more. I like to game for distraction...not for a feeling of achievement. The concept of spending an hour learning how to play a game (which is what seems to be required for most X-Box and PS/2 games these days) is a little daunting and not a worthwhile use of my time.

So, what games do you folks like? I've set up a FavoriteGames space on the wiki...drop in and lemme know. This can be any sort of games/puzzles/whatever, and can be PC/Arcade/board games/RPGs, etc. Also, please leave your name or some other distinguishing feature on your list entries if you add to it.

Update: It seems like a good day for MAME, as slashdot links to a review of the 2-player X-Arcade controller that I own and heartily endorse.

Ain't no protest like an Internet protest,
cuz an Internet protest don't stop, yo!

Freekaneko.com is where you can support Isamu Kaneko who was arrested for the mere act of writing file-sharing software and "assisting" users who used it to transmit copyrighted files in Japan.

I've got to say, I'm not seeing what all the fuss is about.  Maybe it's because I'm married and I'm not scouring the Internet for dates.  Either way, I'm in  (thanks to Cote').  So if you want to join, let me know.
