You Oughta be in Pictures
This photoblog shows some really interesting (at least to this layman's eyes) shots of anatomy, mid-surgery. Kind of like those "exploded" medical illustrations, but using actual bodies (I think). It would be interesting to find out if the author is a doc, or a medical photographer of some type, or just someone who has access to these pictures. [via Boing Boing Blog]

It's Not Just for Doctors...
For those of you who are not doctors, you can't tell me that Medscape doesn't provide some practical information. (By the way, did you know that the CPT code for removing a fish hook from a patient was "10120- I&D of foreign body, subcutaneous tissue, simple 10120-Complicated"? If you follow the link above you will.)

Would You Do This?
Wow, now this takes guts...Doc Shazam has posted her evaluation for all to see on her blog. This definitely is a bold way to respond to how you've been judged at work, but I'm not sure I would have the guts to do this with my eval. Not that it's negative in any way, mind you... ;-)

Overall, I think the eval is total bunk. If they think I'm slow that's fine but intead of telling me to pick up more charts, tell me how to increase my efficiency. As far as the low marks on patient rapport and technical skill, well I'm dumbfounded by those. The high marks in appearance and knowledge? Well...you can fool all of the people some of the time!

You Go Girl! (I've always wanted to have a real reason to say that...)
