Do you ever ask the question: Where does the time go? Sure, probably all the time. I guess it bothers me that I think I need to be doing something measurably important or meaningful all the time. So it may not be the fact that I/we are not doing something something important that bugs us but that we think we need to be. So if we can stop judging the activity list and enjoy the time we have it will be a better present and by extension a better past. You live the present twice - when it happens and when you think about it later (when it is now the past). While the experience should be identical - cause hey! you only lived it once - it often seems different upon reflection. Stop me, this is getting too deep for early on a Monday.
Our time with Ella is even more fun now. She is walking with confidence. And with the walking comes new found objects that she couldn't see while on all fours. People at church yesterday were getting a big joy out of watching her walk around.
We put four new tires on the truck yesterday. Ouch. Seventeen inch tires really hit you where it hurts. And of couse they are the widest tires that I ever had to replace. We bought Goodyear Fortenza tires which have this guarantee to run 70,000 miles. I was thinking back to tires of thirty years ago. You would buy a set of tires and they had a 24,000 mile guarantee - and they ran somewhere between $50-70 a tire. Oh how time and prices change things.
I have nothing more coherent to add. I am anxious for football season as the start of training camp approaches. I think all the camps get underway in the coming week. Soon I will need to start building my draft list for the upcoming season. Till then, it's RDogs out for now.
