Hi from the Dawgs on the banks of the still flowing South San Gabriel River. We were out of town all week, arriving home yesterday after what seemed like an episode from the Amazing Race Series. Many, many things to relate to the RiverDogs readership, just not enough time this morning.
Over the course of five days in Syracuse we experience three of the four seasons. It was sunny and hot the first three days up there. How hot? In the neighborhood of 75-80 degrees, hot enough to wear shorts, which we did not bring since it was going to be cold. On Wednesday morning, the leaves were blowing right off the trees and the back deck was covered. We took time that afternoon to carve some pumpkins with Bella - I have pictures, you are going to love it. Yesterday the temperature was 35 and there was a chance of snow. There you go, three seasons in five days.
Our flight home was going to be exciting if for no other reason than we had two stops on the way to Austin with changes at each. During lunch in Detroit (a 60 minute layover) we got word that our flight to Memphis was canceled due to mechanical problems. They automatically booked us on a flight at 7pm arriving in Austin at 9:38pm, just six hours later than expected. We traded that flight for a 12:30 flight to Dallas and rented a car to drive to Austin and got home at 6:30. Of course we still had to drive to the airport to get the truck and our luggage, but we did have a few hours here to get settled. What a day. Many funny interludes - smell in 1st class, wet seat, etc. Just good to be home.
I have a photography class today and that is the reason that this interlude is ending now. I have to prepare a lunch and make sure my cameras are ready. I will be back in a few days with more news thats fit to print. BTW, Leander football is alive and well - we won our last three games (all in district0 and are in first place. Dogs out for now.
