Merry Christmas Everyone - It is Christmas Eve - well, the morning of Christmas Eve, and quiet all through the house. I have been up for the last two hours getting this and that done in preparation for our five day trip to San Miguel de Allende (Mexico). There is still much to be done before we are ready to go. Again, after all it is Christmas Eve.
Kathy's Mom and Dad got here Friday night around 10:30 and we were up till after midnight. Kathy and I were still up early yesterday and had baked two pies, and prepared posole for tonight's dinner. We also made a kaluha cake (yum) and chicken tetrazinne which we had last night for dinner.
The Christmas shopping is done and our plan for the afternoon and evening is confirmed. We are going out to Wimberley after lunch, returning here in time for the Christmas Eve service at 7 PM. I guess dinner will follow and then the gift exchange. It will be early to bed since we leave for the airport at 7 AM. By mid afternoon we will be in San Miguel and exploring the unknown. Sounds pretty exciting to me.
I will be carrying three cameras on the trip - the Rolleiflex, the Nikon F100 (film) and the Nikon D70 (Digital SLR). My film choices are the pro film from Fuji (a 50 ASA slide film) and the Kodak UC (ultra color) for the Rollei. If all goes well I will have many examples from the streets and architecture of the classic old colonial city.
I don't think I mentioned that Kath and I have been exploring alternative medicine for the past month or so - we have been going to acupuncture appointmens and have found it an exciting and effective way to complement (i.e., enhance) traditional western medicine. We can recommend it to all, regardless of your malady - or even if you don't think you have a malady.
The RiverDogs are well and happy - and so are we. Our best wishes and God's blessings to all of you, the faithful and the few (readers of RiverDogs, that is). RD out for now. Come back on New Years Eve for an update on our trip to San Miguel.
