Sing a Happy Song Happy Saturday morning to all you fans of southern fried music. We had a great night last night listening to music on a lawn in South Austin. Ginger Leigh, formerly of the Ginger and Sarah band (AKA Vera Takes the Cake) hosted the event at her shop on South First. Also perform were Kacy Crowley and Shelley King. A little gospel, a little jazz, and a whole lotta everything in between.
A fine night with cool breezes and very cool songstresses - we met Shelley, Dave and Is at Central market and loaded up on wine and exotic foods for our tailgate picnic. Have you ever had fig/almond cake from Spain, topped by carrot cake and chocolate to die for? We had salmon, chicken, flank steak, margaritas, chicken salad, cheeses... I could go on and on - just know that it was great fun. Good music, great food, and fun people watching. Even a Yorkie. RiverDogs out!
