OK, so this is my site where I get to bore my friends and family with the story of my life. But also I get to say whatever I want about whatever I want. So I'm sure that sometimes it may be entertaining.
Parental warning (as in, warning to my parents): if I'm mad there will be swearing.
So speaking of things that make me mad I almost had a mental breakdown today about the evil-ness of banks. I have had similar breakdowns before and many of you have witnessed them but I was reminded today... mostly because due to our recent move I am broke as in the days of old... like in college when I'd pay one credit card with another. It's only temporary this time but nevertheless, I somehow managed to overdraw my bank account and get charged $78 in overdraft fees. Only it shows up as one fee so I don't even know what the real story is. But the end result is my account is like negative $100. Fan-tas-tic.
Well, at least tomorrow is Friday.
So yesterday at work someone way higher up than me asked me if I was "enjoying" my work. Now why would you ask someone that? Do you really want to know the answer?
"Yes, thanks. I enjoy not only the answering of the phones, but also the sending of the faxes and stamping of the mail. My favorite part is the telling people the same things over and over and babysitting them even though they are adults."
Of course, I actually said something like, "Yeah, I really like all the people I work with... blah blah blah." It was just an uncomfortable moment. I mean, I like my job fine but I don't think I could really say I "enjoy my work". Which reminds me of a joke I just got in an email or something the other day which I think was attributed to Drew Carey. It's something like: "You hate your job? There's a support group for that. It's called 'everybody'. We meet at the bar."
I'm watching The Daily Show with John Stewart and his guest is Matthew Perry. They were just discussing how people who are talented shouldn't go around being talented at more than one thing. They were talking about Elizabeth Hurley and how she's both hot and funny and Tony Bennet and how he's both a great singer and a great painter (of course I can't verify this for you). John Stewart said, "Be hot, or be funny. But don't go f***ing it up for the rest of us." Oh, this show cracks me up.
Well I think it's time to change the laundry to the dryer so we both have clean clothes for tomorrow, and then we can go to sleep. I mean so I can go to sleep. Rob already fell asleep on the couch a long time ago and stumbled off to bed a couple minutes ago. Men are so weak.
Good night.
