Welcome to my page... where I'm always right and no one can argue with me.

By the way, I'm getting pretty sick of these stupid "Capital One No Hassle Card" commercials. The most recent one has a guy walking up to his house with a bunch of new purchases and his wife says, "How are you doing, Mr. Moneybags?!" or something, obviously talking about all the stuff he's carrying. His reply is "Don't worry, I put it on the credit card!" I have never heard a worse example of the consummate American problem on a commercial. It's like the guy really doesn't understand that you actually have to pay for what you charge on a credit card.  10:32:36 PM  permalink

Today at work I ran around all day like the proverbial chicken with my head cut off. I had two lunches delivered for 2 different meetings, I was doing expense reports for our catering expenses which means months of backtracking by looking at my calendar, etc. to see for which meeting I ordered what. This is technically my own fault because I haven't been keeping up with them, but I'm just too busy to keep up with the small things... then they become the large things when I have like 30 invoices to validate.

Meanwhile, I just got pulled into doing so many other things... making hotel reservations for some guests in our office, etc.

Our HR director came up for some mystery meeting with 2 of the principals on my floor at the end of the day today. I am wondering if it's about me or not. Not in a bad way, but like maybe trying to help me. It's possible that they've both spoken to her recently about me being overworked because they have both talked to me about it and shown concern... in between being demanding of course. But I don' t know. I was supposed to have my review tomorrow but it needs to be rescheduled because a couple of the people who are supposed to review me can't meet tomorrow and I don't want to do it with only some, I want them all to be there because they're all such different personalities; it makes sense to hear from all of them.

Last night, and for the last several nights, Billy the dog has been a big pain in the arse. He begs to go out several times in the middle of the night. We can't just ignore him because he'll start barking and wake up all the neighbors. Unfortunately for me, since I wake up when I hear the dog fussing, I get to take him out.

We're watching Survivor and it's painful because they're doing these shape puzzles and it's amazing how stupid people are. It will show a triangle with the point down and the people will be sitting there putting the triangle with the point up and everyone's standing around saying it looks right. It's very upsetting. And of course there are several more very upsetting things about it. Some guy said both "eck cetera" instead of "et cetera" and transposed two words that aren't related but sound sort of alike. I can't remember what it was exactly... he might have even made up a word.

Sigh... at least tomorrow is Friday.  10:24:01 PM  permalink
