Welcome to my page... where I'm always right and no one can argue with me.

Oh my God, I can't take Katie Couric. She's doing some show about SpongeBob Squarepants and she sounds like an idiot, and all the people she's interviewing sound like idiots, and her show is called "Katie at Night" and she needs to stop tanning and stop bleaching her hair. She's so upsetting.

Plus, they are having a freaking heart attack up here about the goddamn snow. They just can't get enough of it. Apparently it's going to snow tomorrow. The radio and the t.v. can't go one commercial break without mentioning it about 5 times. I just saw a little commercial about what's coming up on the news and they had four different people talk about the snow each in a slightly different vein. First the weather guy, then someone who's going to tell us about how the plow guys are getting ready, someone else who's going to tell us about driving conditions and someone else who's going to tell us about people who are leaving early for their travel to avoid the snow. Oh my God, it's mind-boggling. We're only supposed to get a few inches, for Pete's sake.  11:05:25 PM  permalink

Oh, I have such a story from this morning.  I took Billy out while Rob was packing up his stuff to leave, because he came downtown with me this morning to get Starbucks and do some reading (not fiction, but computer related stuff so he can be on his game when he goes to interviews...).  So I have the dog out and he is sniffing a pile of leaves and I'm waiting for him to go.  I see this car pull out of a side street then pause, and back up along the street I'm on just a couple cars down from where Billy and I are, and park, but no one gets out and the car's still running.  So I'm watching it wondering what they're doing.  Then I see a little dog (that kind that looks like a doberman pinscher but miniature - I have no idea what it's called) looking out one of the back windows.  The window is rolled so far down and the dog is so small that he could have jumped right out.  Then I see a little kid stick her head out the same window and look at me and Billy.  Now I think that the car pulled over so the stupid kid could look at Billy.  This annoys me to no end because:

1.  Hello, my dog is outside to poop and pee not to be admired by people in cars, please leave us alone.
2.  People forever think dalmations are the cutest thing in the world, and all children want to pet them, and this is because Disney made all those goddamn 101 Dalmations movies and because parents are such idiots.
3.  Billy hates children.  I'm starting to see his point.
4.  What is wrong with this parent or whoever is driving the car, anyway?  They're pulling over so their stupid kid can wave at a dog she doesn't know?

Anyway, so the next thing that happens is the stupid little girl takes the little dog and holds him to the window and tries to turn his head our way and get him to notice Billy.  Oh, great.  Even better.  Let's get a yippy little dog that can jump out the window to notice Billy and start barking at him.  Then I see the girl's head again, then the dog, etc.  Oh, and the girl starts going: "doggie doggie doggie" trying to get Billy's attention.  Not OK.  Then finally the little dog notices Billy and starts barking.  This is the first time Billy pays attention and then he, of course, barks back.  Hey, at this point I'm about ready to let go of him and have him go bite the kid and her stupid dog.  So then I have to drag him around while he's trying to get at the car.  Finally they drove away.  But I'm left wondering what the hell is wrong with people?  Unbelievable.  Well, hopefully they got in a car crash on their way wherever they were going.  I just hope the dog didn't get hurt.  Idiots.

I have the best news ever.  Rob and I went to the dentist recently and it was totally awful.

See: Manic Monday

But, it just so happened that today Amy told us about how she just had a dentist appointment with her new dentist and about how great he was, and she had fillings and he was great and there was no pain at all, etc.  So she found us our new dentist without even knowing we were looking!  She is my psychic twin for real.  So I called the place, and set us up with appointments with the doctor she sees on 12/19.  This is the best!  Thanks, Amy!    10:16:43 PM  permalink
