Hi, I'd like to introduce something to everyone in this country. It is called The First Amendment and it guarantees (among other things) freedom of speech. Now, I would like to point out this flagrant violation of that freedom. I forgot how upsetting it is to be a kid (ie: under 18) and therefore apparently have no rights. Isn't anyone else alarmed that the rights and freedoms we are supposedly at war about are consistently being violated by the United States government in the name of our "national security"? This is total insanity.
Anyway, today Rob had approximately his fifth highly stressful day in a row involving the consulting work he's been doing part time - a lot of technical difficulties there this week and people are unreasonable about them all, despite the fact that they have been getting by for over 2 years with only Rob as part-time tech staff and having virtually no problems, which is ridiculous and can only be attributed to the fact that he does a great job. Also we've been re-reminded in the last week or so how badly the green line sucks. It took him at least an hour today to get from the Warren Street stop to Park Street station downtown. It's about maybe 5 miles or so. The green line is so slow moving and stops so frequently that it's worthless. They really need to do something about it. But instead of using transportation money for this, the state and federal government has instead spent $14.6 billion on the big dig. Nice work everyone. Anyway, so by the time we got home tonight from a failed attempt to go see an apartment (the building looked kind of shitty anyway, so we weren't too disappointed the person didn't answer the bell) we dragged ourselves back home through the cold drizzle and Rob fell asleep with the puppy. I spent about 45 minutes doing some serious cleaning in the livingroom because we've barely been home and it's way worse than usual. Since I finished that I've been relaxing in the clean livingroom just listening to some nice music. All the pets are sleeping with Rob and no TV so it's very mellow. It's nice to wind down at the end of a long day. At least tomorrow is Thursday which isn't too far from the weekend. And we are going after work to look at an apartment in the North End I think. If it is great we'll basically take it. We don't want to be fussing around with a bunch of nonsense we just want to find a good place and stay there for a while and not have to worry about it when everyone else is, around September 1. We just can't bear to stay where we are - we're being overcharged and it's a total slum. It's embarrassing to have people come over. Poor us. I guess it could be a lot worse.
Goodnight everyone.
