Low-Carb Version of French Fries. Randy Blaun has found the holy grail of zealots of the Atkins diet: the low-carb French fry. By Teresa Riordan. [New York Times: Health] OK, sorry, but I have to comment on this. I posted it because it made me think of Heather with her "low fat no-fat" fries. But now I have to say this... is the woman in the picture for this article the one who they say has been an Atkins diet afficianado for "decades"? If so, it doesn't seem to be working very well. I mean, she looks to be fairly overweight. I'm not trying to opress her, but I don't understand what's going on. Isn't the point of starving yourself of carbs, which most people find somewhat torturous, to lose weight and be very slim? So it doesn't seem to be working for this woman... why keep torturing yourself?

Alright, I'm off to shower and head to work.

I just saw something on the news about the California gubernatorial recall election. They mentioned that some people are claiming that punchcard voting has a "high error rate" which can "deny some minorities their voting rights". What, exactly, does that mean? What minority are we talking about? The minority of stupid people? Unfortunately, I don't think that's a minority right now in this country.
