I forgot to tell the most important story from yesterday - when it was time to take the trash out to the curb in the morning, we discovered that one of our outdoor trash bins - which are very new, by the way, and which are very clean, and on which we always keep the lid closed - was full of maggots. More accurately, I discovered this. Good thing too because Rob is much more scared of bugs than me. But I'm certainly no fan. So he cowered in the apartment and I had to deal with it. I sprayed them with half a can of Lysol, which didn't seem to do much, and then dragged the trash can very carefully down to the sidewalk. It is still there now because I want to make sure they're all dead before I bring it back to the porch. And I'll probably hose it down and cover it with more Lysol. Horrible way to start the day, that's for sure!
Anyway, tonight I went to the Park Plaza Hotel downtown with AJPP for "high tea", which was ever so precious. It was an informational meeting about an art show in December that benefits a non-profit. It's called Crafts at the Castle. I haven't figured out that title yet. But anyway, the tea goodies were very fancy and yummy and it was a good time. There was a sweet 80 year old lady at our table who chatted with us for a while. Plus it is always fun for us to pretend we are more classy than we really are by going to events similar to this. Like just about any Smith event held in Boston.
