| Where I'm always right and no one can argue with me.
I sprained my ankle Last night, 3/5/03, coming home from work, I fell down the stairs in the train station like a total spaz and for no reason, and rolled my left ankle very painfully and sprained it. Way to go Jenn. I then had a painful upsetting commute to my T-stop, Community College, where it took 3 tries to successfully reach Rob by collect calling from a pay phone because the idiotic operators kept screwing up and disconnecting us when Rob answered that he would accept the charges. By the time I actually got him on the phone I was poised to burst into spazzy Jenn tears, which I did at once. I was very frustrated by this point and my ankle was killing me and I couldn't imagine how I was going to get home. Rob hurried down to meet me and then let me hang on him as a pseudo crutch and walk slowly home. My ankle hurt a lot last night so I was good and iced it and elevated it and before going to bed, wrapped it in an ace bandage. This morning it felt better than it did last night, but still was obviously very screwed up so I called my doctor's office to see if I should come in there or go to the ER. They had appointments so I took a cab there. My regular doctor wasn't available, but the doctor I saw was very nice, and she confirmed that it was a bad sprain, but just a typical one, and there were no signs of a fracture. So she re-wrapped it for me in a new bandage, gave me crutches and a prescription for an air cast and I was on my way. Of course, when I got to the medical supply store (fortunately just across the street from my doctor's office - nice living in a big hospital city) I found out that my cheap-ass insurance doesn't cover that, so I didn't get it. But a nice guy at my work said he has one that he'll bring in and give to me, which was really nice. It will help immobilize the ankle and probably let it recover faster. Anyway, that's my story. |
