"Wildcard Factor" Guy I know I've talked to several people about this angle in my race to win a seat on the Board of Commissioners in District 7, but I can't remember Mark Binker being one of them. I think he may have independently made his own astute observation in today's N&R: I am the "Wildcard Factor." Yes, there is the definite, intriguing possibility that I could be the independent swing vote on a board split 5-5 between the Democrats and Republicans. What a great opportunity for the average citizens, parents and taxpayers of Guilford County to have their voices carry real weight in the decisions of county government! Tell your neighbors... sidebars: Everybody's literature and media copy talks about "County Commissioners" but please note the actual race on the ballot in your voting booth will read "For Board Of Commissioners." In Mark Binker's other article today on Mike Barber's opportune golf package give-away to all Guilford County teachers last Friday, I was in the main accurately quoted. But I think there is a typo in the one quote where it reads, "...I don't say." I think I said, "I don't see." I probably should have also clarified that when I used the word "unethical" I was setting the semantics bar pretty low there since we are talking about a candiate who is a lawyer in his daytime job. (Funny that Mike Winstead's mini-billboards were cut down by a city ordinance. We still had a Winstead sized billboard for Bush Cheney on Battleground and Horse Penn Creek as of last night.) 11:16:24 AM |
