From today's Good Morning Silicon Valley. This is for just some here, and you know who you are. The real point, is that should we have expected anything less from Microsoft, than to point the finger of blame at their users. Discuss amongst yourselves...
Win 2000 hacking spree all your fault:
Microsoft has apparently gotten to the bottom of an
outbreak of attacks against machines running its
Windows 2000 software. After weeks of investigation,
the software giant's research team has concluded that
the rash of attacks probably wasn't caused by vulnerabilities
in its operating system, but rather by administrators
who did not properly secure their servers. "By analyzing
computers that have been compromised, Microsoft has
determined that these attacks do not appear to exploit
any new product-related security vulnerabilities and do
not appear to be viral or worm-like in nature," the company
said in an advisory. "Instead, the attacks seek to take
advantage of situations where standard precautions have
not been taken."

Jake Savin: BBEditManila Tool. This a really nutso (in a nice way) tool that lets you edit the home page of a Manila site using BBEdit on a Macintosh. It's Jake's demo for tomorrow's session at Seybold on Web Services in Publishing. It's sweet. Two-Way-Web all the way. [Scripting News]

Who was it that said, "Youth is wasted on the young." Maybe we should be paying attention.
Younger Consumers Readiest for Mobile Advances. Consumers are highly evolved when it comes to their personal electronics, and their savvy is translating into increased usage of PDAs, notebook PCs, and mobile phones. In addition, IDC research finds younger age groups tend to be early adopters of a variety of technologies. [allNetDevices Wireless News]
