Having gone through a similar episode with my Dad just about a year ago, with his deterioating health, this struck a cord.
On September 11, 2001, my dad was lost in midtown Manhattan, along with about 18 million other New Yorkers. I asked people to look out for him, I was genuinely worried. He was okay, he had quite an adventure, basically walking home from Manhattan to eastern Queens. Well, today, he's quite sick, in a hospital in NYC, not conscious. Once again I am genuinely worried. Last year I asked you all to pray for him, and today, as some wise Jewish person once said, "it couldn't hurt." His name is Leon. He liked to listen to Fiddler On The Roof, The Sound of Music, and all kinds of opera. He even liked the Beatles, although he would never admit it when they were in their heyday. He once told me that they wore wigs. "No man keeps his hair like that," he confidently told me when I was around ten years old. We've had our differences, I guess all fathers and sons do. Now I'd just like him to get better and live to be 100 or so. [Scripting News]

Just got back from the Ski show here in Denver @ the convention center. Not bad overall. Lots of folks there buying ski's and snowboards.

After working with MS Office for about two weeks now, I got rid of the 30 day trial version. It's a nice interface overall and very pleasing to look at while working on it. However, the lack of print ability in the trial, the lack of ease of use of purchasing the full version, after downloading the trail, the clunky calendar interface, a hotsync program that wouldn't load to interface with the Palm. And I'm not out another $200 for the upgrade.

This will work. Now we won't have to open all the various flavours of IM programs in order to communicate with everyone.
News.Com: IM compatibility closer to reality. Called the Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol, the group's instant messaging standard gives Internet users hope of one day being able to send messages to anyone on the Net, no matter what software they are using. [Tomalak's Realm]

Snow overnight and cold this morning. Now, blue skies and sunshine and most of the snow is gone.
