A picture named warbot.gifVorsprung durch Technik. The elite of German bloggers was chatting on irc://irc.freenode.net/de:blogs tonight. If you understand German, you may experience a first hand account of German efficiency in this hastily edited transcript. Pure Dada.

A picture named bremner2_160x120.jpgTrust me, I'm a Prime Minister. They're Back. Bremner Bird & Fortune series 5, Channel 4, every Sunday 20:00.

There's not much for Rory and the Johns to get their teeth into this season, with just Lord Hutton's report, a crucial vote on top-up fees pitching Old Labour against New, the Prime Minister possibly resigning, the New Hampshire Primary kicking off the American election campaign, Parmalat, BCCI and the Bank of England embroiled in financial scandals, George Bush building a moonbase and heading for Mars, the poor old Beagle still not responding and Roman Abramovich buying anything that moves. And that's just show one.

A picture named broken.gifGreat Letter. Via Going Underground.

A quick note to London Underground: the white fluffy stuff currently falling from the sky is called snow. It is not a rain of frogs, The Winged Victory of Samothrace, or Rodan the flying monster. Furthermore it is the right kind of snow (ie the kind that doesn't fall underground), so let's have the trains running properly, eh?

And if you are really stuck, give the Swedish transport authorities a call and ask them how they manage to run a seamless, delay-free service through ice, snow and sub-zero temperatures. Anthony O' Neill, NW1

A picture named bbc.gifCivil War. The BBC's in deep shit.

Some of the BBC's biggest names are considering quitting in protest at the attitude of its acting chairman and the greatest-ever threat to their journalistic independence. The corporation was on the brink of civil war last night as union leaders warned that Greg Dyke's resignation as director-general had split the staff from the governors.
