In Between. Alright, I have received a "GO!" from the publishing company of 'film' regarding publication of the covers; I am not permitted to publish any of the articles though, because the copyright is still with the authors. Fair enough. So I'll redesign the 'film' website to make it a proper website, this stupid macdotcom photo album stuff just doesn't work for a project like this. I'll have to omit the articles though. If anyone out there in Germany (or else) has more information on 'film', I'm looking forward to an email. I'll post some more Dinky Toys pages, probably tomorrow. I can heartily recommend Peter Robinson's new Inspector Banks novel, Playing with Fire. Enough for today, more tomorrow.

The Art of Ray Caesar. This is fantastic. This is amazing. This is unbelievable. This is great. My work is entirely digital, from its creation to its method of printing. I create models in a three dimensional modeling software and cover these models with painted and manipulated photographic textures that wrap around them like a map on a globe. Each model is then set up with a invisible skeleton that allows me to pose and position the figure in its three dimensional environment. Digital lights and cameras are added with shadows and reflections simulating that of a real world. Update: Order some of his prints here. I print everything myself on a Epson 7600 with pigment ultrachrome inks ( archival for around a 100 years ). I print on heavyweight "German Etching Paper" or "Arches Infinity paper" the best paper I can find.

Fantastic Plastic. It's plastic. It's fantastic.Fantastic Plastic is devoted to the weird, the wonderful, the odd, the radical, the exotic and the just plain cool vehicles that have been captured in polystyrene (and resin) over the past half century. A celebration of science, engineering, daring and imagination, what follows is a chronicle of Man's highest aspirations as expressed through his flying machines, both real and imagined.

Art and Architecture. The life and works of Antonio Gaudi. Thanks to Peter Blake for the link. The Catalan architect Antonio Gaudi has in recent years attracted increasing interest outside of Spain. The purpose of this volume is to make available in English a description of his works and an evaluation of his place in the architecture of his day and of our own. For the specialist there is included what is believed to be a definitive inventory and chronology of his works and a selective bibliography of books and articles on Gaudi and his period. Most of his extant works are illustrated with photographs selected for their architectural qualities. In addition, a number of little-known and recently discovered works by Gaudi will be found among the illustrations.
