A picture named histilt.jpgThere's more. At lileks.com there are Comics, Matchbooks, Old Ads, Motel Postcards (see left) and - what a relief! - old American Diner pictures I was looking for earlier on. Proper design and art at last.

A picture named uncle.jpgI'm excited. Big Little Books are comics. They're books. They're a joyless synthesis of both. Fantastic: Major Matt Mason is there, The Invaders, The Man from U.N.C.L.E. - a really nice cover gallery. Lots of thanks to Anita for the link.

A picture named saucer.jpgRemember David Vincent? The bloke who fought The Invaders from Vega? That was a fabulous TV series in the 60s. They even did a new Mini series in 1995, which was really spooky.

It all started off in front of an old diner ... so have a look at the Diner Museum. Sadly, not a lot of pictures - you have to sign up to their e-group to access those.

"It began with a closed deserted diner ... and a man too long without sleep to continue his journey. It began with the landing of a craft from another galaxy ... "

A picture named LEIGH1~1.jpgSigns. Let's post something positive about the USA for a change. After all, some of my best friends are Americans and you really can't blame all of them for their mad government. So have a look at the Sign Museum. Plastic Signs, Neon Signs, Signs of all sorts ... brilliant.

A picture named 9.gifFlicker. I was actually looking for Tony Conrad's Site, but that has been taken over by a Country & Western singer with the same name. So if you want to know more about the Tony Conrad I mean, there's not much out there; a short article here and a review here.

So let's go to Flicker instead, which has got nothing to do with Tony Conrad, but with downloadable Underground Videos, Performances and Films.

"Welcome to Flicker, home page for the alternative cinematic experience. Here you will find films and videos that transgress the boundaries of the traditional viewing experience, challenge notions of physical perception and provide cutting edge alternatives to the media information technocracy."

A picture named searle5.jpgSearle. Interesting page about the English cartoonist.

A picture named Cray-2.jpgComputer History at the Computer History Museum.

"The Computer History Museum maintains a broad range of artifact, documentary, and media-based sources in computer history, one of the most important and comprehensive such collections in the world. The museum's strength is chiefly in post-WWII electronic computing but it also maintains a representative collection of objects from earlier eras." "link"
