RSS aggregation & Zoe?
  There's been lots of talk about building RSS aggregators lately. What I think would be cool would be to extend Zoe so that it would aggregate RSS as well as email. Today it focuses on gathering emails but I'm sure it could be easily extended to subsume other information sources as well...

New JDK
  JDK 1.4.1 is now final. I'm rather disappointed though: I had hoped that some shared VM work would be appearing in this release as promised (well maybe promised is too strong a word.) Sun is far more concerned about Java performing well on big iron rather than little iron. I guess I can't blame them but it's pretty exasperating for those (considered dinosaurs in some circles no doubt) that actually develop Java AWT/Swing applications (I do a mix of web/EJB/Swing development at work.)

Still, it will be interesting to see how the two new garbage collectors perform and maybe this release will resolve the random VM crashes we get with the Tomcat 4, JDK 1.4.0 & Solaris 2.6 combo.
