The Storm is Over
  An update on the weblogger storm: It's over. Kudos to Erin for apologizing. I think David said it best:

...I can understand the outrage involved when lawsuits are threatened and I felt this outrage myself, but try to understand that there are two sides to every issue. Both sides are human. I truly hope this is my last post on this topic. [Bloggin Roller]

Later, Dave Winer weighs in:

...Yesterday some of Erin's detractors called him a bully. He's not a bully, he was just scared, but they were bullies. A mob, no better than white men lynching black men. No thinking going on. A blood sport. I am ashamed to be associated in any way with this... [Scripting News]

I guess in the eyes of Dave if you speak out against an injustice you're the virtual equivalent of a lynching mob. Reality distortion field anyone? What would have happened if everyone just stood by and thought poor David but said nothing? Would that have been right? Enough.
