In Search of...

Am researching the quote Eisenhower supposedly made concerning party and principle, where he allegedly said "A party without principle is a consipracy to seize power."  Anyway, saw it in this past week's Creative Loafing.  (Guess I could do the easy thing and call the author.)

Anyway, stumbled across the Time magazine report of the Republican Convention in 1956.  Some interesting "principles" outlined by Eisenhower in his acceptance speech.

Then I found on the archimedes site the following version of the quote:

..........If a political party does not have its foundations in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party, it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.   Eisenhower

But, alas ... no specific reference to "when" he said that.
