IBM and Mayo announce a joint project to mine patient data in effort to improve individual patient care.  WSJ article ($$$) highlights debate by researchers whether a computer can identify significant data over noise in an attempt to improve cure rates.

E-Learning

Chronicle of Higher Education reports a survey finds that college students aren't impressed with the impact of technology on learning.  Comments centered on use of Powerpoint and presentation tools (which may hint at why the impact is so questioned).
