US News is blog happy this week.  Michael Barone writes of blogs and their use by the left and right -- not sure where he wanted to go (the conclusion was anything but conclusive) but clearly he thinks the vitriol of Kos and others undermine Democratic efforts to retake the center.  I guess the Republican's use of Sunday School lessons to teach white rural Americans that anyone voting for Democrats would go to hell is not as radical as the rants of Howard Dean (tounge in cheek here!).

Then Washington Whispers notes every Republican Senator wants a blog (though they have no idea what a blog is.  "Something Lincoln invented, right?")

A couple of friends of mind, Mike Adkinson from Techlinks and his trusty editor , Kevin Howarth, are there discovering more about the blogging community at the Triangle Bloggers Conference .  I was invited to tag along, but alas, prior engagements conflicted.

Anyway, Dan Gillmor, Dave Winer and others are blogging away.
