This headline must be causing some philospher/economists at least a bit of creative energy: Lenovo Completes IBM Division Acquisition (AP).
AP - Chinese computer maker Lenovo has completed its $1.75 billion
purchase of IBM's personal computer division, creating the world's
third-largest PC maker, the company said Sunday. [Yahoo! News: Technology]
I mean, does this mean the Thinkpad become the LotusPad? Will the I/O bus now be named the I/O Rikshaw? Will anyone in government trust the new owner of the company that formerly produced IBM PC's? Oh well, back to The World is Flat -- which got reviewed in NYT today. NYT also provides a video extra - an excerpt from the documentary on outsourcing Friedman has shot that will air June 3. BTW, while third world countries are graduating increasingly large numbers of mathematicians and scientists -- what are we doing? |

If you want to wish me a happy birthday, first, let me say, thank you, mazel tov, a blessing back at ya, namaste and let's have fun. I have one request, which I get to make because it'll be my birthday tomorrow, and I'm getting in practice for one day of pure selfishness. Instead of sending an email, if you have a blog, how about posting your wishes on your blog with a link to mine? I could always use some more flow, and I'd love to climb a few notches on the Technorati list, truth be told. ";->" |
