Introducing...

Radio Jim.  I'll be posting there while in Boston and NYC.  This will segregate my work from my hobby... This site is now personal. (However, I do like Radio Jim as a title!).

Congratulations

 to JH House Elementary.

This school is doing phenomenal work using blogs to help middle school students help themselves to write better. Take a look at what the students are doing - -then consider that these are not necessarily native Americans but a mix of ESL (English as Second Language) students as well.

A BellSouth Foundation study (Point of Transformation) looked at the problems of integration of technology into education and one of the findings was that while schools understood automation, they failed to understand innovation, and that is where the true value of technology in education is.

Anyway, the southeast councile of the AEA had the Spirit of Endeavor Awards Ceremony last night where the middle school was announced as a finalist.  Wheeler High School took the top prize (They did very well in Dean Kamen's FIRST Robot competition) but the efforts of the students at JH House speak for themselves.

(Kamen was the keynote speaker by the way).

If only we adults would learn to write as well and as openly.

Thanks to Anne Davis for her efforts there, as well as a great set of staff and administrators, a few of whom I met last night at the dinner.

I am off to Harvard for the Internet Law Seminar and will be on Harvard Square by this afternoon.  Dave Winer, I promised Anne to look you up -- are ya still there?

Cheers!
