Hmmm... from the weird headline department, a missive from Educause contained the following notice

INFORMATION SHARING: DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY

(Emphasis mine).  I know what they mean to say -- but the double entendre (oxymoron) whatever you want to call it sure sticks out, considering the source.

HIPAA presents problems -- article discusses different interpretation of the rules -- some hospitals assume an opt in policy with regards to directory services and other assume an opt out.  If you are an unconscious patient, do you want your friends and relatives to find you (opt in - a metaphysical yes will do nicely) or not?
