Some companies have begun banning IM software.  Not because of lost productivity, but rather because of holes it creates in corporate security.

Just what I always wanted... Fairy Horns.

More P2000 stuff

The eraser-head pointer will do in a pinch, but the force it requires to move the pointer is way out of proportion for such a small device.  The old wrist tendons were starting to get sore already.

To compensate, I picked up a couple of mice at CompUSA that are designed to be portable and used with laptops.  The one I'm using now is made by Kensington that has a USB cord that retracts like the power cord on a vacuum cleaner.  It's an optical mouse, so it works well on most surfaces, and the retractable cord makes it very easy to carry around.

Speaking of Scholsky's Deli, they now have free (yes, free) wi-fi hotspots in several of their Austin locations, and perhaps in Houston and Atlanta (yes!).

Today at the local Schlotzsky's Deli, I saw one of the guys working there, in a t-shirt with a bandana on his head, swapping SMS messages on his mobile phone.
