Dave Winer: "Tag Soup, as awful as it may be, and related concepts, are the way of the world."

It's tiresome when there are so many restrictions placed in our way by the rules lawyers of the world.  Aren't there enough external barriers to our success each day?  Do we really need to put more in place?

It's important for a creator to practice a level of detachment from their creations.  Once it is released to the world, you can no longer control the use to which it is put.  It's better to just understand this truth, live with it, and relax a little.  The street finds it own use for new technology.

This PC is really, really small.  But it seems to have all the functionality and better performance than the old Compaq PC sitting on my desk right now.

My Lifebook has given me a new appreciation for just how small a truely functional computer can be.  In fact, it seems that my laptop could be much smaller if it didn't have to have a keyboard and a display screen.  In 10 years, will my "laptop" be a credit-card-sized thingy that projects it's display on any surface, has voice recognition for input, and is about 200-times more powerful that what we have today?  Wasn't there a TV show on a few years ago where "our hero" had such a device?  Some sort of time travel story?

Power to the Poop!. Brown is Green. A dung-fueled power station in the UK has won an environmental award from the Euro Solar educational charity. The £7M plant produces power for the national grid, and is capable of generating 1.4 megawatts of power at full tilt. Located in Devon, it runs on approximately 1.6 million tons of waste produced by local farmers. Apparently, this trend is pretty big in Germany and Denmark: both countries already have about 20 large-scale poo-poo-powered plants.
