This mushroom has sprung up in a new place

A week and a half has gone by since my last post, since I last had internet access. I had 300 new messages in my inbox, most of them except for 20 were spam. I have many new messages to read up on in my Yahoo group lists, although I doubt I will read them all. I prefer to read these group messages at Yahoo! Groups, lest I clutter up my inbox even more.

I am eager to make new friends here, cabin fever is starting to set in and I am ready for a life again. Too bad my closest friends (besides my husband and daughter) are out of town. But eventually, moving just means I am able to spread my wings out even more and get to know more people.

Bonsai, our Chinese Pug, seems to be enjoying the fenced yard fairly well. She still has to get used to being out there all alone, though. I don't always come out with her. The birds chirp very loudly at 5:30 a.m. here, and it is just beautiful. Trees, birds, and space in Charlotte. Who knew?

If I get lucky enough I will be working close by and I won't have a long commute. My husband only has a 10 minute drive, and for Charlotte that is a lucky break.

My soon to be eight year old is itching for friends herself, and since we live in an actual neighborhood now vs an apartment complex, that is a good excuse as any to start taking daily walks.

The only complaint so far (besides all the troubles we ran into moving-don't get me started on U-haul!) besides not being able to bring our friends with us, is the fact that Charlotte has a deficit of left turn lanes. -Jennifer
