California Electronic Voting Report

California report slams e-voting system security. Security teams from the University of California were able to bypass both physical and software security in every electronic voting machine tested at the behest of the California Secretary of State's office, according to a report released Friday. In Sacramento on Monday (tomorrow) a day-long hearing will give the University of California investigators a chance to present their findings and allow the various voting machine companies to present a response. The hearing also will be open for comments from the public, according to the Chronicle. Sequoia and Diebold machines are on the agenda on Monday, at 10 AM in Secretary of State First Floor Auditorium, Information (pdf).

Preparing for February 5 Elections

If the California Secretary of State is going to decertify any machines, she must do it by Friday, six months before the Feb. 5 vote.
