Increasing Risk with Blackberry and Cell Phone Loss
Because many of these devices entered companies and governments
informally, protection against lost information may not be formal:
I hadn't realized that some devices could be erased remotely. How thoroughly?
The funny anecdote: on eBay, a financial employee sells a second-hand blackberry with information in it.

Encryption Standards?
We'll probably see more articles like this:
To avoid relying on their black box, we need to know the standards we
need for our encryption. Several email programs, like MS Outlook, offer
encryption but I haven't research it to know if a DIY solution is
better. DIY, is not strictly "do it yourself" but rely on an algorithm
that's been vetted or selected by the best in encryption.
