In a sidereality interview, Nick Piombino says
Time and again, historically, writers were acclaimed during their lives but were forgotten immediately after their deaths. The reason? Often their fame depended more on their editing and anthologizing and politicking and less on any actual interest in their writing.
Ain't it the truth. But he also seems to suggest, in the interview and in "Confessions of a Blog Artist," that blogging may provide an opportunity for a different kind of literary dynamic. I'd like to believe that's possible, but, without in any way diminishing my joy in just being at the table, sometimes it seems like the same old dominance games—what do you think?
