Are there any reliable email servers that run on Windows 2000? I’m afraid not?
As far as I know, there isn’t anything of the maturity and the stability of sendmail or qmail in Win 2K.
Apache, PHP and even MySQL all run reasonably well under Win 2K, even though they’re developed and tested primarily under Unix/Linux.
I’m using an up and coming mail server that runs fairly well: www.mailenable.com although it’s still young. I still don't trust the ad hoc redirection mechanism via flat files, and decided to implement anonymization of email address via web forms instead. All in all, I recommend maienable not because I’m a cheapskate (standard version is free for commercial use), but because its intelligent user base and its quality, something very uncommon in the window only dev community. They even have open source dev style forums
