Salon itself is now on the brink of bankruptcy. What a shame.
I still think that information wants to be free. Here, in the remnants of the Roman Empire, the big boys -prisa and grupo godo-, are also following the same recipe for disaster: they all want to charge you handsomely for their content, just like Salon. IMHO, they’re eroding their brand as more and more people are turning online for news and opinions.
20 minutes, a nimble snack size publication, is doing something completely different.
