I've been wrestling with trying to add value to my weblog's homepage. I've noticed quite a few folks using tools like BlogRoll. Links are great too. I feel like I'm missing something important by not linking to other great sites.
Here's my difficulty. I know HTML quite well and that's no problem. However, I use Radio UserLand to create my blog, and I'm a little nervous about customization so far. So far my links have been added by using the Navigator Links feature in the Preferences section. I've also place some trust in Radio's themes to solve the problem of presentation. I don't have to worry about graphic layout to put something up that is worthwhile. I will eventually, but not now. Too busy.
Any tips on how to customize Radio? I know other people are doing it. I've seen their Radio weblogs highly customized. Well, I can look for tips later. Right now I'm conducting an experiment to see if this entry causes my blog to show up on Randy's weblog (the Upward Way Press) in his BlogRoll section. I really need to learn how that works.
I've been reading his comments about belonging. It's actually scary how much I can see myself and my own recent experience in the topic. I can't absorb it all right now, but I know I'll be checking back in with his thoughts.
