Thursday, February 27, 2003I found a new widget for web pages, a wysiwg editor written in JavaScript. It is called htmlarea and is an upgraded version of the one generally available for IE. It is provided for free by Interactive Tools. The beta version adds most of the markup provisions of Textism in a wysiwyg format. It's biggest problem is that it produces code that fails a variety of xhtml tests because they use IE as their engine. It looks nice and is fast. With a little html fixup code it can easily generate good xhtml. I am going to testing it tomorrow. I am planning to modify my present Tikitext page and see what happens.
