A random conjunction provokes me into noting that a) David Edelstein is an excellent movie reviewer, and has been since he was writing for the Village Voice in the '80s, and b) Brian Cox created a Hannibal Lecter far superior to that other guy, and Manhunter is better than any of the "Hannibal" movies that followed. 6:15:23 PM |

Surprising how often Terry Gross's closing "well thanks so much for talking with us" seems to fluster her guests - as if the atmosphere of a private, intimate conversation has been evoked so masterfully that it has fooled even them. 2:54:20 PM |
