One of the more intriguing things I learned about at Bloggercon wasn't even about blogging. Meetup is a web site that enables folks who share something in common to "meet up" - all over the world. A simple, but cool concept. Apparently there is a weblogger meetup coming up. Alas, none in my neck of the woods. Oh, and did I say that meetups have become a pivotal tool for the Dems running for President and other wannabes running for office? But we've still got a long way to go to beat Bush. Follow the links below to learn more about both: -------------------------------------------------- Thank you for signing up...

This is probably old news, but did you know that the State of Texas requires ISP's to provide a link to web filtering and blocking software on pain of a $1500 per day penalty for each day that that link isn't posted? Here's the law. And here's the ISP that tipped me off to it. They did a clever thing. Instead of laboriously creating a page with all these links they simply provide a link to a google search on "blocking and filtering" - instant compliance! 11:49:36 AM |
