New toy!

I got a Kenwood TH-F6A.  What a great little radio.  I picked it up because I wanted to have a single radio that I could carry around that did 2M/220MHz/440MHz.  The TH-F6A fit the bill.  It is the only tri-band handitalkie that has this combination and a full 5W output on all three bands.  It also has a great wideband receive capability.  The Yaesu VX-7R was the only radio other than the TH-F6A that I considered, but it only has 300mW on 220MHz.

This is going to be a great addition to my shack, and because it has 220MHz, it will be my main radio when I do work with the North Andover Emergency Management RACES group.

Tomorrow, my friend KB1GFV and I are heading to the Candy Store to pick up a couple of accessories for the radio.  I'm going to try to get the soft carry case, a Comet HT-224 antenna, and the PC cable so that I can program it using my computer.  We'll see what they have in stock.
