Sunday Bloody Sunday!!

"They[british army] chased the stone throwers and, in a couple of minutes, they shot 13 dead--a 14th was to die later. That was the first huge assault on the Catholic community, which united the Catholic community."

but what was worse they claimed

"that the army was simply fulfilling its duties" they admitted that they could not prove these innocent people killed were ever a threat!

This "was the first time that Britain had taken away power from the Protestant population and from their political leaders.>  it was a reaction to the fact that the British find that, because they did not control security--that was in the hands of the Northern Ireland government--they could not control the war."

"A majority(of the catholics, the vast majority, disapproved fundamentally of the IRA campaign. They saw the violence as being immoral, as being counterproductive, as harming their own community economically and in other ways"

read the whole story by click on "Bloody Sunday" of the left hand side.

And let me tell you something. I've had enough of Irish Americans who haven't been back to their country in 20 or 30 years come up to me and talk about the "Resistance," the Revolution back home. And the Glory of the Revolution. And the Glory of dying for the Revolution. Fuck the Revolution! They don't talk about the glory of killing for the Revolution. What's the glory of taking a man from his bed and gunning him down in front of his wife and his children? Where's the glory in that? Where's the glory in bombing a Rememberance Day parade of old-age pensioners, their medals taken out and polished up for the day. Where's the glory in that? To leave them dying, or crippled for life, or dead under the rubble of the Revolution, that the majority of the people in my country don't want.

I  don't know much about history of American Presidents but in my opinion John F Kennedy has to be the best, he could aviod war, instead of starting war. I got this little piece from http://www.toostupidtobepresident.com it's a good website check it out

Top 11 differences between the Cuban Missile Crisis and our present situation:

11. Kennedy was a war hero trying to avoid another war.

10. Cuban Missile Crisis lasted only 13 days, ending on October 28.
Present crisis will last at least until November 5.

9. Russians gave Cuba nuclear warheads and missiles.
We (Reagan, Bush I, Cheney and Rumsfeld) gave Iraq Anthrax, Botulism, West Nile Virus, VX gas and helicopters to deliver them against Iran.

8. Embargo on Cuba still in place 40 years later.
Cheney/Halliburton rebuilt Iraq's oil infrastructure immediately after the Gulf War, more than 20% of the gas in your SUV comes from Saddam.

7. U2 spy plane shot down over Cuba, Kennedy still pursues diplomatic solution (doesn't even take out the SAM sites).
Dubya uses errant shots at coalition planes as pretext for war.

6. Kennedy: mindful of international law, refers to blockade as "quarantine." Bush: international whut?

5. Kennedy: considered repercussion of military action around the world and for future generations of humanity.
Bush: "He tried to kill my dad."

4. 1962: 36 missile launchers and at least as many missiles with nuclear warheads only hours away from readiness just off the coast of Florida. Kennedy pursues diplomacy.
2002: Hussein years away from delivery system or building his own bomb. Bush picks fight.

3. Kennedy secretly willing to remove US missiles in Turkey in exchange for removal of Soviet missiles from Cuba.
Bush willing to let Russians move on Georgia in exchange for vote in UN Security Council.

2. Intelligence, military urge Kennedy to strike Cuba.
Intelligence, military urge caution on Iraq.

1. GWB is no JFK

If you want true facts on countries USA have invaded, attacked or bombed on the left side, on the navigator menu you'll see USA ACTS OF TERROR this is a very long list. just take a quick look through it.

Tolerance

If religion teaches tolerance, why do all religious fundementals not practice tolerance i.e Islam, hindus, christianity and judaism.  Budism if considered a religion is the only one that i cannot find any evidence of intolerance. Has the Bible/Qur'an inspired more violence than any other book film etc. I will be adding to this section so keep an eye out.

Iraq are too poor to attack

Many people argue that saddam hussien should not rule iraq because there is no democracy, and the fact that he was not voted into power. I remind you that George W. Bush was not Voted into power either (court decision on dogdy ballot papers in his relative's state in florida).

Iraq to poor to attack follow this story on your left hand side. This space is kept for discusion on arguement for and against USA attacking Iraq.
