Astronomical Decorations on Ceramics, con't... Lots of interesting stuff is still out there, so I'm keeping this bit of reseach open for sure (haven't had time to take my try at it!) The folks putting out glow in the dark ceramic glaze, got me thinking about how this could be used as decoration for star charts on ceramics, etc... For practical use it would probably be placed within a relief, or textual elements, and be used just to make the design glow. Thus, one could make out the area in natural light. However, what if it was done as a secret design, a surprise to one who exposes the object to the light, and then to the dark. The information would remain hidden. It would only be there to those who knew the secret. This also leads back to some of my research on secret compartments and Schrodinger's Cat. (Thanks to Ceramics Monthly.) 10:09:50 PM |
