The Library of Dust.

David Maisel's project consists of photographs of a series of corroded copper containers. The patina on them is similar to raku or wood fires, great multicolored swirls, drips and blobs. These are surfaces many potters, and abstract expressionist artists, would appreciate.

Inside each vessel is the unclaimed cremated remains of a patient from a state mental institution. They are each marked with a number and go back as far as the 1800's.

The whole conceptual component of this is almost overwhelming.

Be sure to also read David's information on the project.

Virtual Clay-

These folks are working on a way one could use virtual modeling clay using a force feedback glove.  Combine this with the real money you can get selling stuff in virtual worlds like Second Life, and you are one step closer to a completly new business model for clay folk.

Imagine if those years of honing ones manual clay skills could be put to direct use manipulating bits.
