Bloogle Ad Words

Just as I suggested in my Annotated Web article on Bloogle, Google is selling Ad Words on Blogger sites...

Google's search for new ad revenue. Aiming to expand its ad network, the search giant moves beyond selling sponsored links that appear alongside search results and starts selling similar links on partner sites. [CNET News.com]

Its new Content-Targeted Advertising program takes the idea a step further. According to a promotional page for the program, advertisers can now also have their AdWords ads placed on relevant pages of Google partner sites, including HowStuffWorks, Weather Underground and Blogger, whose parent company, Pyra Networks, was acquired by Google last week. The pages on which the ads appear are tied to the keywords associated with the sponsored links. The promo page says Google plans to sign up other sites to display the Content-Targeted Advertising.

Blog Network Pages

For the Blog Network, I have set up two wiki pages:

Blogmaps -- a map room

Blogbuds -- a page to match experienced bloggers with people interested in starting one.  Previously I had people interested in becoming a mentor or buddy contact me with their interests and requirements, and then privately matched them.   Now I am asking people to be more open about who they are, how they can help or what help they need.

Both are works in progress, let me know what you think

Renaming k-logs
A new name for k-logs. In talking with Ross the other day we more or less agreed that the terms k-log and k-logging should be abandoned.  They are pretty horrible but I've kept using them as the defacto terms.  Not any longer.  I want to find new terminology.  I'd like to offer up my current favourite:

Business Journal

What do people think? I'd love to hear your alternatives. [Curiouser and curiouser!]

I set up a wiki page for suggestions and discussion on this issue.  I fundamentally believe that weblogs within companies have properties beyond KM.  I am at a loss for words initially, aside from the term Intralog to accentuate the fact that it is inside the firewall.
