EduResources Weblog--Higher Education Resources Online
This weblog focuses on locating, evaluating, discussing, and providing guidelines to instructional resources for faculty and students in higher education. The emphasis is on free, shared, HE resources. Related topics and news (about commercial resources, K-12 resources, T&D resources, educational technology, digital libraries, distance learning, open source software, metadata standards, cognitive mapping, etc.) will also be discussed--along with occasional excursions into more distant miscellaneous topics in science, computing, and education. The EduResources Weblog operates in conjunction with a broader weblog called The Open Learner about using open knowledge resources across a diversity of subjects, levels, and interests for a wide range of learners and learning communities--students in schools and colleges, home schoolers, hobbyists, vocational learners, retirees, and others.

Sebastien Pasquet's two part article on "Personal Knowledge Publishing and its Uses in Research" provides a much more extensive discussion of k-logging than the previous article from the Teacher Librarian. I plan to use both articles when introducing blogging to the faculty as a tool for teaching and scholarship.

Many articles are appearing about the blogging phenomenon as the "next big thing" or the "current big thing" on the Web. An article appeared this Friday, January 10, in the Living section of the Oregonian, "The World According to Me." It's not surprising that most pop articles emphasize the diary or talk radio side of web logging rather than the educational use of blogging. I like this overview article from the Teacher Librarian because it provides a brief introduction to knowledge logging for instructors.

Comment: A couple of new ideas in there, but basically an overview article. [Serious Instructional Technology]
