EduResources Weblog--Higher Education Resources Online
This weblog focuses on locating, evaluating, discussing, and providing guidelines to instructional resources for faculty and students in higher education. The emphasis is on free, shared, HE resources. Related topics and news (about commercial resources, K-12 resources, T&D resources, educational technology, digital libraries, distance learning, open source software, metadata standards, cognitive mapping, etc.) will also be discussed--along with occasional excursions into more distant miscellaneous topics in science, computing, and education. The EduResources Weblog operates in conjunction with a broader weblog called The Open Learner about using open knowledge resources across a diversity of subjects, levels, and interests for a wide range of learners and learning communities--students in schools and colleges, home schoolers, hobbyists, vocational learners, retirees, and others.

I've noticed that higher education instructors in the field of Chemistry are often very receptive to using the Internet and using instructional tools from the Web. Possibly that's because several of the professional associations in Chemistry emphasize web links for instructional resources. This conference presents some interesting examples of using the Web for instruction. _____JH

"Web-based applications have had, and will continue to have, a profound impact on chemical education.  This online conference will bring together a variety of presentations representing recent work in this important field of chemical education."

________

The Spring 2006 CONFCHEM, a free online conference covering the impact of the Web in chemistry education, gets underway later this week. Jean-Claude Bradley is presenting on the chemistry teacher’s changing role in the age of blogs, podcasts, screencasts, wikis, and games. I wonder if anyone is keeping a list of free online conferences in higher education.
