Video Output
Live Channel can now output directly to full-screen video, in real-time. The video output can be projected on a big screen, broadcast to closed-circuit TV or cable TV and recorded to video tape. The video output feature can be used simultaneously with streaming.
Dynamic Interface
Live Channel 2 has a dynamic user interface, with unlimited movable, resizable windows.
Unlimited Sources
Any number of sources can be opened and used simultaneously.
Multiple Titles
Any number of text titles can be created, saved and displayed in the broadcast. A new title source is created simply by choosing New Title from the File menu.
Multiple Inputs Any number of live inputs can be created, saved and displayed in the broadcast. A new input source is created simply by choosing New Input from the File menu.
Unlimited Overlays
Live Channel 2 allows compositing any number of video layers, using sources of all kinds
Picture in Picture
By controlling each video layer's position, size, cropping and transparency, multiple picture in picture and split screen effects can be created.
Visual Positioning
Layer positioning is easily controlled by command-dragging the source. Panning and scaling are just as easy, using option and command-option, respectively.
Complex compositions can be easily assembled and previewed in the broadcast window, prior to switching them into the broadcast.
Live Now
Any source can be immediately switched into or out of the broadcast with a single click of the Live button.
Multiple Source Transitions
Video transitions can be applied to multiple sources of all kinds simultaneously. Any live source with the Next button switched off will be transitioned out, and any non-live source with Next switched on will be transitioned in.
New Transitions
Several new video transitions are available, including TV quality three-dimensional transitions.
Source Volume
The audio volume is now saved for each source individually, so it only needs to be adjusted once.
Voice Over
Live Channel 2 detects the audio level of each source, and can automatically mix down all other sound. Great for narrating a video clip.
QuickTime 6.1
Live Channel now supports QuickTime 6.1, including the improved MPEG-4 video and audio compression.
Compression Presets
Setting video and audio compression parameters (for streaming and recording) is now easier, with built-in presets for common internet connections.
Multiple Recording Sessions
Recording can be started and stopped at any time, allowing simple archiving of important segments of the broadcast. Recording sessions are stored in separate, automatically numbered movie files.
Open From Finder
The Finder can now be used to arrange and open imported Live Channel media files.
System Events
Using Apple's System Events application on Jaguar, Live Channel 2 can be remote controlled and automated by AppleScript or other programs.
