Back to my Story...

The Voices hovered thickly in the air above Geo’s body. “This is not working,” said one of Them. “To do this, he will have to live a lie.”

“We can’t take her out of here,” said another Voice.  “They belong together.”

“They are soulmates,” said the Other, “They have traveled together in previous lives.  Who are we to divide them again? There is only one way to fix it.”

A dark form fell from out of the sky and landed on Geo’s chest.  It was a gray bird with a red crest.  The bird spread his wings, and as he did, he lifted a sort of shadow from Geo and collected it to himself.  He cocked his head, and seeing that his work was finished, flew away across the valley.

Geo lifted his head from the granite and sat up.  Had he come up here about the lady?  There was a lady who had just come into the forest.  She had battered herself on the trees during the fog.  He brought her into his house during the rain.  She needed help, and here he was, way up on top of the mountain.  Rather silly.  He wanted to go back and find out who she was and where she came from.
