Furry Pig
The new “Pigmet” stood on top of the cracked, stone-like object that was the previous Pigmet. He spun around on one leg and jumped straight up into the air. When he landed it did not hurt at all! He was half the size of the Old Pigmet.
“oooooooh!” He said. “Feel my new soft fur!” and he felt his own arm with his hand as if he had never felt it before.
“Pigs don’t have fur.” Said Lee. “Are you a pig?”
“Well,” said Pigmet, giving him an authoritative look, “I’m a Furry Pig. Also,” he continued, “I have hands instead of hooves, too! Look-EEE!” And he put up his hands for all to see. “What I am, really, is a Maginary piglet, which means I can be however I want! I am smaller than I was, though, huh? And my robe don’t fit any more. That’s okay! I’ll prob’ly grow some, but I will always be a little piglet. Little is a good way for furry piglets to be.”
He sniffed the air and looked around himself “This is sure a nice place,” said Pigmet. “Much nicer than being out on that gray planet. Maybe we can do some of our preparation in here.”
“There is a Dharma lecture in here soon,” said Larry.
“Oh, let’s stay!” said Pigmet. “I may not hear another again for a while!” He walked over to the large wooden figure of Avalokitesvira, and bowed low before the bodhisattva of compassion. He looked up at her. "Yer my fav'rite!" he said.
Larry looked at Lee. "He loves the Dharma. That's Pigmet alright!"
The large bell outside was sounded, calling the sangha to the meditation hall. All our friends found cushions on the floor and the sat down. People entered the hall from outside, bowing as they came in. Soon the all cushions on the floor were all filled. The gong inside the hall was struck, and they all chanted:
“The Dharma, incomparably profound and exquisite
Is rarely met with, even in hundreds of thousands of millions of kalpas;
We are now permitted to see it, to listen to it, to accept and hold it.
May we truly understand the meaning of the Tathagata's words!”
